The board also retains legal counsel and a fee accountant. All operations of the Housing Authority are subject review of private and public annual audits and management reviews from several regulatory agencies, mainly the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). There is also some private sector funding.
